Zagreb Observatory — observatory website
Web design for Zagreb Observatory — a clear digital platform bringing together astronomical data, educational programmes, events and practical visitor information.

Making astronomy accessible
Located in the Popov Tower in Zagreb’s Upper Town, Zagreb Observatory has been bringing astronomy closer to citizens, pupils and space enthusiasts since 1903. The design needed to translate the breadth of its work into an interface that feels equally clear before a first visit, a programme enrolment or deeper exploration of a topic.
A clear route through complex content
A wide range of material is organised into clear sections: astronomical data, programmes, information about the observatory and events. Layered navigation moves visitors from broad themes to specific pages without overloading the homepage.
Programmes for learning and discovery
General, beginner and advanced astronomy courses, workshops, the Summer School and competitions have dedicated places in the structure. Parents, pupils, teachers and curious visitors can quickly find content appropriate to their interests.
The E-School of Astronomy project from 2009, at eskola.zvjezdarnica.hr, was designed as an online educational space bringing together astronomy fundamentals, exercises and mini-projects, resources for teachers and a channel for questions to scientists.
Data that follows the sky
Moon phases, seasonal milestones, sunrise and sunset times, and other ephemerides are presented as distinct practical resources. The structure connects the popularisation of science with information that can be useful day to day.
From an announcement to a visit
An events calendar, news, frequently asked questions, opening times, location and visitor guidance create a practical route from curiosity to an Observatory visit. Croatian and English versions extend access to both local and international audiences.
